THE WHY

Tread Tabata® was founded by Boston based fitness guru, Kathy Glabicky in 2011. With over 20 years in the fitness industry as a Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and in Corporate Fitness, she knew there was a need to work out smarter, not harder.

You can do anything for 20 seconds® is the Tread Tabata® mantra which personifies the inspirational full body, high-intensity, interval training workout created by expert trainer, Kathy G. Glabicky’s method has pioneered the Tabata movement in the Boston area and beyond propelling her into the spotlight as one of Shape magazine’s “50 hottest female trainers.”  As a pioneer of the Tabata fitness movement, her knowledge of the incredible benefits Tabata holds, along with her passion for both running and personal training, Kathy applied a formula that engaged her clients with running and cardio that they had previously resisted, to a short-interval format that they could achieve. The strength training remained on the floor and the two were combined for optimal results.

THE METHOD

The workout is paired by its certified instructors to a customized Tread Tabata App, created by Kathy, to follow along in intervals – 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off – so instructors can focus their personalized attention throughout the workout, helping members through adjustments and improvements for maximum results. Paired with timed music that is as curated as the workout itself, members are fully enveloped in the motivation, camaraderie and vitality of the studio while crushing a workout that is energizing, efficient, and creates the coveted afterburn that has revolutionized the results of group HIIT classes.

Tread Tabata® offers unique, total body small group workouts that consistently evolve, created by these expert instructors who complete Glabicky’s ACE and NASM certified training course. Tread Tabata® workshops offer over 20 years of experience to all of their expert instructors.

Kathy resides in Marblehead with her husband and son and currently focuses on teaching and personal training at her Swampscott studio.
